HEALTH PROFESSOR LAUNCHES COMPREHENSIVE E-LEARNING PRODUCTS FOR HIPAA
Version 3.0 of the product allows training for organizations of any size

THOUSAND OAKS, California (March 20, 2003) -- Health Professor, Inc., today announced the launch of HIPAAprof Version 3.0, a comprehensive e-learning system designed specifically for the HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements. The industry leading training system allows for full customization of an extensive curriculum, which includes more than 150 lessons, and is built with the flexibility to meet the needs of small to large healthcare organizations. HIPAAprof can now be installed, courses customized, and training employees in less than 24 hours!

" Besides having our own top technology staff,” said Clif Gaus, President of Health Professor, “We have content written by experienced healthcare and regulatory professionals and reviewed and approved by prominent HIPAA legal experts. Our HIPAA curriculum is both engaging and accurate and includes real-life case studies and employee scenarios for specific types of organizations. That is why so many prominent organizations have chosen our solution.”

HIPAAprof 3.0 comes in three versions:

  • “HIPAAprof Basic” for Medium Size Organizations (100-500 employees) – Delivering unbeatable cost-effectiveness and value, HIPAAprof Basic Edition is designed for small to mid-sized organizations looking for a turnkey training solution that allows for easy, effective, and quick training of employees. Whether you are a hospital, health plan, integrated system or clearinghouse, we have a full suite of courses to meet your training needs. There is no hardware or software to buy or install. After all, a major goal for the product is: “Installation within a day.” Furthermore, you have the option to customize courses from our library of over 150 lessons for different job categories. Students can be electronically registered. Prices are as low as $5,000.00 for the entire company and can be paid by credit card.
  • “HIPAAprof Trainer” for Large Organizations (over 500 employees) - We host the system on our secure servers and guarantee industry leading reliability and response times. You can custom build courses for job categories and departments using our unique screen menu system. Students are registered electronically from your HR files and your company has unlimited use of the system for a full year before a modest renewal fee is due. The package includes full access to the suite of tracking and exam reports for management. You also receive timely updates of all lessons if the government requirements change. Other features include: the ability to author new lessons and quizzes in any content area, and the creation of courses from your in-house lessons.
  • “Health Professor LMS” for Large Organizations - Our complete enterprise system can be simply installed inside your organization's firewall and fully branded to your company’s name and logo. There is even separate branding for the subsidiaries within the enterprise. Your organization can configure curriculum specifically to three organizational levels: (1) multiple companies within the enterprise, (2) departments within each company, and (3) job category within each department. This full-function Learning Management System (LMS) includes our complete library of HIPAA Privacy and Security lessons and quizzes and can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of other LMS systems. You pay one price for the LMS and content, with unlimited courses for all employees.

Large national hospital systems, like Shriners’ Hospitals for Children, and large academic medical consortiums, like the University of Texas Southwestern, currently use HIPAAprof to train their employees and liked the fact that prices were flat rate.

Smaller organizations like the speed and simplicity of the system. “HIPAAprof not only gave us the ability to customize the training courses, but also to track employee participation and performance as documentation of HIPAA compliance.” Said Bobbi Nesbitt, B.S.N., R.N.C., Belmont Community Hospital.
